Winter scrapbook page layout on pale blue gingham floral paper with a large white arctic fox cub, a pine tree with a lantern, a white owl, a log cabin and pine cones, and a strip that says quiet winter days

Winter Fox Scrapbook Page Idea with Blue Gingham Paper

A winter page that is not about Christmas stays useful until March. Pale blue, cream and one white animal in the middle are enough for a page about a walk, a snow day or a quiet evening with a book.

Quick answer: this winter scrapbook page uses three printables: a pale blue gingham paper with flowers for the background, one large watercolour arctic fox for the centre and woodland cut-outs around it. Print them at home, glue the fox in the middle, place four or five small pieces near the corners and add a short handwritten strip.

The three printables on this page

These three sets are on the designers’ pages at Creative Fabrica. The pictures below are single sheets cut from the designers’ previews, so you can see exactly which piece the page uses.

3. Snowy Woodland Animals Clipart Bundleby V-Design Creator on Creative FabricaAround it: fussy-cut pages, US Letter, resizable to A4. The page uses the owl, the lantern, the pine, the cabin and the pine cones.

How to put the page together

  1. Print the background. The paper is a 12 × 12 inch square. On A4 or Letter it prints as a square about 8 inches wide; trim it to your page.
  2. Print and cut the fox. Print the fox so that it takes up about half the page height. Cut around it and leave a narrow white border: white fur on a pale background needs that edge.
  3. Glue the fox in the middle. Straight onto the paper, a little above centre, so there is room for the strip below its paws.
  4. Add the forest. Put the pine with the lantern at the top left, the owl at the top right, the cabin at the lower right and the pine cones at the lower left. Leave the checks between them empty.
  5. Write one line. A cream strip under the fox holds a date or a few words. On the mock-up it says “quiet winter days”.

Make it your own

  • Use the page as a title page for a winter journal and write the months on the strip.
  • Swap the fox for a photo cut to the same size; the forest pieces frame it the same way.
  • Make a reading page: write the title of the book on the strip and keep the lower right corner for a note about it.
