89 Pink and Pastel Scrapbook Papers to Print at Home

Pink is the colour people look for first when they want pretty scrapbook paper, and it is also the colour that goes wrong most easily: too sweet, too flat, or so busy that the photo disappears. The sets below are the ones in our catalogue that keep pink calm and useful.

There are six of them, 89 sheets in all, from a plain check to grandmillennial roses. Each section says what the set looks like, what it is good for and which sheet to pair it with.

Quick answer: for pink scrapbook paper to print, start with a quiet pattern such as pastel gingham or watercolor stripes for the page, and use a floral or dotted sheet from the same set for the photo mat. All six sets below are 12 × 12 inch files, so they print as full sheets or cut down to any size.

Six pink and pastel sets, from quiet to romantic

1. Pastel gingham: the safest pink on the page

Twelve gingham sheets in pink, blue, peach, lilac, green, coral, mint, lavender and yellow, with the same check size on every sheet. Because the check does not change, any two sheets sit together: a pink page with a mint mat, or a peach page with a lilac strip.

2. Pastel rainbow polka dots: for birthdays and baby pages

Twelve polka dot papers that run through a pastel rainbow, from rose pink and orange to yellow, green, aqua and periwinkle. The white dots are the same size on every sheet, so the papers can be lined up in rainbow order or mixed two at a time.

3. Watercolor stripes: pink with a painted edge

Twelve papers with soft watercolor stripes in pink, green, yellow, orange, blue and purple. Each colour comes twice, deeper and paler, and the stripes wobble a little on purpose. The stronger pink makes the page, the paler one makes the mat for the photo.

4. Pastel floral patterns: two scales of every design

Six watercolor patterns in soft garden colours: wildflowers on a pale plaid, a green trellis with pink flowers, floral vine stripes, hydrangeas on stripes, flower sprigs on beige and a sage leaf stripe. Every design comes in two versions, one with larger motifs and one with motifs at half the size, so you get a large-scale sheet and a small-scale sheet that belong together.

5. Grandmillennial papers: bows, roses and trellis

Twenty papers in the grandmillennial style: small flowers, bows, a pink trellis, roses, peonies and ticking stripes in soft pink, blue and green on white. The look is a grandmother’s sitting room made fresh, and it suits pages about family, weddings and birthdays.

6. Grandmillennial florals: big roses and hydrangeas

Twenty-one floral papers in pink and blue: large roses, hydrangeas and garden bouquets, some on white and some over stripes, lattice and chevron. The fuller, more romantic partner to the set above; pick a stripe or lattice sheet to rest the eye between two busy ones.

How to use pink paper without making the page too sweet

  1. Choose one pink and keep it. Take the page paper from one set, then add only one more sheet for a mat or a strip.
  2. Let a pale sheet carry the photo. A washed-out pink under a photo gives it a soft frame without competing with it.
  3. Mix scale, not style. Large roses with small checks, or big stripes with small dots, look planned; two different florals do not.
  4. Add one cool colour. A mint, sage or blue sheet from the same set keeps pink from turning sugary.
  5. Leave a plain area. A label, a tag or a block of journaling on a solid sheet gives the pattern somewhere to rest.

Which set for which page

  • Pastel gingham for girls’ trips, picnics, birthdays and everyday pages.
  • Rainbow dots for birthdays, baby pages and school photos.
  • Watercolor stripes for beach days, summer pages and first pages of a journal.
  • Pastel florals and grandmillennial papers for weddings, anniversaries, grandmother pages and spring.

Printing notes for pink paper

  • Every set here is 12 × 12 inches. On a Letter or A4 printer choose “Fit to page” for the whole sheet at about 8 × 8 inches, or print at 100% to use part of the pattern at full scale.
  • Pale pinks need a good printer setting: choose the paper type that matches your sheet and print one test page before the rest.
  • Ordinary paper works for backgrounds; use light cardstock for mats, tags and pockets.
  • Use a glue stick or double-sided tape; wet glue can wrinkle inkjet prints.

Questions about pink scrapbook paper

What is the best pink for a first scrapbook page?

Pastel gingham. The check is calm, the colour reads as one tone from a distance, and every other sheet in the set goes with it.

Can I mix pink sets on one page?

You can, but start inside one set. Mixing a stripe from one set with a floral from another works best when both share the same soft colours.

Are these papers seamless?

The designers describe the gingham, dot, stripe and floral patterns as seamless, which means a sheet can be enlarged or repeated without a visible join.

Which set is best for a wedding or anniversary page?

The grandmillennial papers with roses and bows, or the pastel floral set. Pair a floral sheet with a pale stripe for the mat.
