What is in the pack

The designer says each sheet is unique and that the styles range from nineteenth-century antique to midcentury modern. Most sheets are lighter in the middle and darker toward the edges, so writing or a photo placed in the centre stays readable while the edges do the ageing.

The sheets are landscape, 4800 × 3200 px. The files are saved at 72 DPI, but for printing it is the pixel size that counts: 4800 × 3200 px gives a 16 × 10 5/8 inch sheet at 300 DPI, more than a Letter or A4 page. The designer suggests them for scrapbooking, wedding invitations, stationery, DIY craft projects, menus and greeting cards.

Ideas for using these papers

  • Junk journal pages. A hundred sheets is enough for several journals without repeating a page.
  • Invitations and menus. Print the text over a light-centred sheet.
  • Treasure maps and letters. For a party game or a gift with a story.
  • Photo backgrounds. A parchment sheet under black and white photos.
  • Overlays. The designer also offers them as overlays for digital design.

Colour palette of the pack

  • Pale orange#F2D5BC
  • Beige#D3C1A0
  • Beige 2#D6A97D
  • Orange#B77F4E
  • Brown#A46435
  • Cream#F7ECE2

The colours are sampled from the preview images of the designer. Screens and printers show them a little differently, so treat the codes as a starting point for matching cardstock, ink or digital elements.

How a 4800 × 3200 px sheet prints at home

At 300 DPI a 4800 × 3200 px sheet is 16 × 10 5/8 in (40.6 × 27.1 cm).

Paper“Fit to page”100% (“Actual size”)
LetterThe whole sheet at 50%: 8 × 5 3/8 inAn 8 × 10 1/2 in piece of the pattern at full scale
A4The whole sheet at 49%: 19.7 × 13.2 cmA 19.7 × 27.1 cm piece of the pattern at full scale

One sheet printed on Letter paper at 100% is enough for:

Each link opens the Template Maker with that size ready to print on the back of the sheet.

Printing tips

  1. Open the file in any image viewer or drop it onto a blank page in a text editor, then choose Print.
  2. Choose “Fit to page” for a whole small sheet, or 100% to keep the pattern at its full scale.
  3. Pick matte paper or light cardstock and select the same paper type in the printer settings.
  4. Set print quality to “Best” or “High” and print one test page before you print the set.

Colours may look a little different on paper than on screen: that depends on the printer and the paper.
